This awesome photo of a green-eyed gecko was snapped by Anke Seidlitz, and was an entry in National Geographic’s 2009 International Photo Contest.

These awesome wave pictures were reportedly taken by Clark Little, a shore-break surfing pioneer from Waimea Bay on O‘ahu in Hawaii. He likes to take pictures showing the power of monstrous Hawaiian waves from the inside out, and the pictures below are a selection of his best wave pictures. His fans reportedly pay as much as $4,000 for his simply awesome photos. Check ‘em out!









Here’s an awesome sight – sunset at the North Pole. Note, the sun below the moon, and how large the moon appears (because its the closest point at which it appears to earth).

Check out the picture of Angkor Wat temple complex in Angkor, Cambodia. It was built for the king Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city. The picture below was featured as a Time.Com picture of the week recently. It features a long jumper from Jamaica as she extends herself during the recent World Athletics Championships in Berlin, Germany.

The picture of determination below, was taken yesterday at the 2009 World Athletics Championships being staged in Berlin, Germany. It features Brigitte Foster-Hylton of Jamaica, as she crosses the line to win the gold medal in the 100M women’s hurdles event. The photo was taken by Markus Schreiber.
